MaXScene is an Island Spirit 36 Catamaran.  She was built and launched in Cape Town in 1999.  She was bought by a doctor who lives and works in Johannesburg but who owned a lovely flat  and mooring in Granger Bay.  For paperwork purposes it was easiest to have the yacht with the same name as the flat so poor Elstree 5 had no identity of her own.  We like to think she is much happier now with her own name.

 

 

 

We purchased her and promptly renamed her and, with the aid of Ian Slathem readied her for her biggest adventure ever, the trip to Richardsbay.  She had never done more than day sailing trips for business men up til then. She made the trip safely and in excellent time and arrived in Richardsbay 2 days before Kevin flew to Australia.

Since moving on board we have made a number of changes and repairs.

 

We still have things to do but, as we were informed by a seasoned sailor, the definition of cruising is maintaining and repairing your yacht in exotic locations.
